Erin Roberts is an actor, director, improviser, and educator whose professional work spans stage and screen. Her performance and filmmaking work has been presented at festivals both nationally and internationally, and she has received multiple awards for her on-screen acting, including Best Actress at the Kathmandu Independent Film Festival, Audience Choice honors at MN Webfest and MN Fringe Festival, and Supporting Actor honors at the New York International Fringe Festival.
Prior to joining the School of Theatre, Film & Television, Erin taught acting, voice, and movement at institutions including Minneapolis College, Penn State University, Queens College, The Guthrie Theatre, Film North, and a range of private studios. Her teaching emphasizes vulnerability, trust, and the embodiment of authentic performance.
Erin holds a BA in Directing from Smith College and an MFA in Acting from Penn State University. She has trained with the National Theatre Institute, the Royal Shakespeare Company, and at York University in Toronto. She is also the co-founder of The De-escalation Team, a professional training organization focused on interactive role-play for nonviolent crisis intervention and conflict management. Erin is a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association.
