Three senior thesis films have been selected to screen at the 20th annual San Diego International Children’s Film Festival at Comic-Con International. Jackson Huffman‘s Ricardo Rivera and the Mines of Montezuma, Myles Gordon‘s The Rematch and Anna Agosto‘s Light Up Lulu will all screen at the San Diego Convention Center in July. The festival has partnered with Comic-Con – the world’s largest pop-culture convention with 140,000 visitors annually – for the past 16 years.
“My family and I have been attending Comic-Con for the past six years so to have my film be a part of this festival is a dream come true,” says Huffman. “I plan to attend the festival and I am excited to see a brand new audience react to the film. In my mind this is the perfect festival and location for Ricardo Rivera and the Mines of Montezuma, with all the magic and adventure baked into the story. I’m honored to be joining Myles and Anna at the festival. Knowing I get to represent TFTV alongside these two talented filmmakers while also representing my hometown of Tucson makes this whole experience incredibly special.”
Light Up Lulu and The Rematch were also official selections of the Los Angeles International Children’s Film Festival, with screenings at WonderCon in Anaheim and the historic Yard Theater in East Hollywood earlier this year.

Myles added: “Attending LAICFF at WonderCon was a transformative journey. Amongst an electrifying atmosphere, screening my film alongside talented peers fueled my passion for storytelling. The experience reinforced my belief in the power of cinema to inspire and connect with audiences of all ages.”
