Our Blessed Rebel Queen: Essays on Carrie Fisher and Princess Leia, edited by TFTV alum Tanya D. Zuk (MA, 2011) and Linda Mizejewski, will be published in October 2021. The anthology, the first full-length exploration of Carrie Fisher’s career as an actress, writer, and advocate, also focuses on Fisher’s entangled relationship with the iconic Princess Leia. The contributors offer insights into Fisher as a science-fiction idol, author feminist inspiration, and Lucasfilm commodity. The book will be available in October 2021.
Tanya is currently completing her Ph.D. at Georgia State University and working on her dissertation, “Post-Millennial Queer Sensibility,” a study of queer alternative new media and collaborative authorship with audiences. Her mixed methodology includes ethnographic interviews and participant observation (online and in-person) as well as textual analysis and industry research.
