With a Bachelor of Arts degree in the Aesthetics and Criticism of Media Arts and a minor in Music from the University of Arizona, Michaela works as a professional sound mixer and designer. Her sound design work is heavily influenced by electroacoustic music and unique recording techniques. As a sound recordist, Michaela enjoys working to capture the best sound possible for independent films. Her latest credits include STUDIO C (TV Series, modeled after SNL), MOSQUITA Y MARI (feature film selected for the Sundance Film Festival in 2012), BREAKING POINTE (BBC/CW Reality TV), and GOLD FEVER (Discovery Channel TV Mini-Series). In addition to mixing sound and sound design, Michaela helps orchestrate production sound for the Sundance Directors Lab. There, she has worked along side Ed Harris, Robert Redford, Martin Starr, Caleb Deschanel and Bob Elswit. Like most sound designers and mixers, she enjoys the uncontrollable smile of a director who has finally heard their desired sound design and score.
