High Fidelity, the next Arizona Repertory Theatre production at the University of Arizona School of Theatre, Film & Television, comes to the Tornabene Theatre April 10 – 24, 2022. Daily Wildcat reporter Erika Howlett recently attended a rehearsal to watch the process of bringing the production to life and to speak with some of the actors.
Cast members Vinney Pugliese, Hannah Peyton, and Daniel Altamirano gave insight into the impact Covid-19 has had on productions, as well as why High Fidelity – an homage to music geek culture that explores love, heartbreak, and the power of the perfect soundtrack – makes for a much-needed escape.
Daniel Altamirano: “Musical theatre is necessary to the world, especially at times like this where it’s like we all need an escape. We all need somewhere to go to laugh for a while.”
Pugliese echoed the sentiment: “It’s something that I feel like people want to see right now. It’s happy … and I think you could bring anybody to this show and have a fun time.”
