Tucson, AZ – Arizona Repertory Theatre presents Pippin, the Tony Award Winning Musical with Music and Lyrics by Stephen Schwartz, and a Book by Roger O. Hirson, October 19 – November 3, 2019 in the Marroney Theatre located at 1025 N. Olive Road (UA campus located near the SE corner of Park Avenue and Speedway Boulevard).

Pippin, directed by UA Assistant Professor Christie Kerr, has an infectiously unforgettable score from four-time Grammy winner, three-time Oscar winner and musical theatre giant, Stephen Schwartz. Pippin tells the story of one young man’s journey to be extraordinary. Heir to the Frankish throne, the young prince Pippin is in search of the secret to true happiness and fulfillment. He seeks it in the glories of the battlefield, the temptations of the flesh and the intrigues of political power, but none of them supply him with the treasure he seeks. In the end, Pippin finds that happiness lies not in extraordinary endeavors, but rather in the simple, ordinary moments that happen every day.

Ticket prices range from $15 to $35.  Discounts available for seniors, students, military, UA employee/alumni and groups of 10 or more.  Tickets can be purchased at tickets.arizona.edu or by calling the College of Fine Arts Box Office at (520) 621-1162 or in person at 1025 N. Olive Road.  Box office hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 1-5pm.

Pippin has a run time of 2 hours and 10 minutes including one 15-minute intermission.  A pre-show discussion is scheduled on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at 12:45pm in the Harold Dixon Directing Studio (Drama Bldg. Rm 116). A post-show discussion with members of the cast is scheduled on Friday, November 1, 2019 following the performance. Pippin is sponsored by Production Sponsors Richard and Yvonne Morris and Musical Theatre Series Sponsor Jane Kivel.
