Join us for the 18th edition of I DREAM IN WIDESCREEN (IDIWS), the annual showcase of undergraduate thesis films created by seniors at The University of Arizona School of Theatre, Film & Television, where senior thesis shorts have been generating major film festival buzz.
The short films, including a thriller set on a remote mountain top, a playground dance-off, and a hilarious mockumentary about a wannabe boxer, will compete for prizes awarded by a jury of industry leaders. This year’s jurors, all University of Arizona alumni, include Tanya De Angelis, the associate director of Archives and Collections at the Sundance Institute, award-winning producer Neal Edelstein (Mulholland Drive, The Ring), and Jeff Yanc, program director at the Loft Cinema, southern Arizona’s leading independent art house cinema.
IDIWS is returning once again to the iconic Fox Tucson Theatre this year, and will take place on Saturday May 6, 2023, with doors opening at 6pm and films at 7p.
The event will be general admission for $5.
