The School of Theatre, Film & Television is thrilled to announce FTV LA, our new base in Los Angeles made possible by our partnership with Film Independent.

FTV LA will host alumni talks and film screenings, creating opportunities to connect with fellow alumni, at Film Independent headquarters (5670 Wilshire Blvd, 9th floor).

Join us on September 13 for Alumni Spotlight: Inside the Agency with Matt Martin (’07), Feature Agent at CAA and Lily Karlson (’24), TV Assistant CAA. An RSVP is required to attend.

Matt Martin is a Motion Picture Literary Agent at leading entertainment and sports agency Creative Artists Agency (CAA). His roster also includes such leading talent as Miles Teller, Chris Hemsworth, Lizzie Olsen, and more. Martin consistently advocates opportunities for the most promising new filmmakers of today, including Christy Hall (DADDIO), Eric Appel (BREADWINNER, WEIRD AL), Michael Giacchino (WEREWOLF BY NIGHT), Sebastian Vanicek (EVIL DEAD, VERMINES), Kat Coiro (ITALIANNA, MATLOCK), Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead (DARE DEVIL, LOKI), Vivienne Medrano (HAZBIN HOTEL), Macon Blair (THE TOXIC AVENGER), and Chad Hartigan (THE THREESOME), among others. With a unique talent identifying opportunities for writers across all mediums, Martin also represents world-builders in the television space, including Meaghan Oppenheimer (TELL ME LIES), Ana Nogueira (SUPERGIRL), Patrick Aison (PREDATOR BADLANDS), and Tim Federle (HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL: THE SERIES). Martin began his career at Innovative Artists. He joined CAA in 2010. Martin graduated from The University of Arizona, where he majored in Communications and minored in English.  He is the father of three beautiful children.

Lily Karlson is a Class of 2024 graduate of the University of Arizona, where she earned dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Film & Television and Journalism with an emphasis in Broadcast. After graduation, she relocated to Los Angeles to begin her entertainment industry career at Creative Artists Agency (CAA), where she started in the mailroom and now serves as an Assistant in the Television Talent Department. In her role, Lily supports agents representing top-tier actors in television, helping to navigate talent strategy, career development, and deal execution.
