Kyle Harris

BFA Musical Theatre, 2008

February 1, 2017

Current Career News

After graduating from the University of Arizona, Kyle held a variety of roles, including Claude in Arizona Theatre Company’s HAIR and later was an understudy for Roundabout Theatre’s production of SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM in New York City, directed by James Lapine, featuring Barbara Cook, Vanessa Williams and Tom Wopat. This led directly to an audition for Tony in WEST SIDE STORY, when Stephen Sondheim himself recommended Kyle as a “natural” for the part. He played the role in the national tour for a year. Soon after the national tour of WEST SIDE STORY ended in 2011, Kyle was cast as George Emerson in the Old Globe Theatre’s musical production of A ROOM WITH A VIEW in San Diego. It enjoyed an extended run to mid April, 2012. In the fall of 2012, Kyle made his primetime television debut as Seth, a recurring role, in THE CARRIE DIARIES (SEX IN THE CITY prequel) on the CW Network. That TV role ultimately led to another on ABC Family that began in Spring, 2015, and is still going strong. Kyle plays the role of Cameron, the chief/tech handler at the secret government agency that zeroes in on a young woman who can read the memories of the deceased to help solve murders and crime. Kyle was also cast as Christian in the Kennedy Center’s production of LITTLE DANCER in 2014, directed by Susan Stroman.
