University of Arizona School of Theatre, Film & Television Presents the 7th Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium, April 4-5, 2019

Tucson, AZ – The School of Theatre, Film & Television presents the annual Undergraduate Research Symposium on Thursday, April 4 & Friday, April 5, 2019 in Old Main, Silver and Sage Room, 1200 E. University Blvd. (located on the University of Arizona campus).

The Undergraduate Research Symposium is an annual event that provides junior and senior Bachelor of Arts students with the opportunity to present original research to the public.  Professional scholars from other highly regarded universities are invited to evaluate the student work and determine awards for best paper in the categories of film and television and theatre.  These professionals are also invited to share their own research work and methods with the UA community in two keynote addresses.

The School of Theatre, Film & Television is proud to have Professor Chiara Ferrari from California State University, Chico and Dr. Hillary Miller from Queens College present their keynote speeches to kick off the event.  Professor Ferrari will present “Curiosity Save the Grad: Tips on Student Research” followed by the address by Dr. Miller, “Evicted: The Theatricality of Austerity in the 20th and 21st Century Dramatic Literature.”

The Undergraduate Research Symposium is free and open to the public.  Tickets are not required for admission.  A complete schedule of events is provided below.  Brief Q&A sessions will follow each keynote address and the focused student presentation sections.

The Undergraduate Research Symposium is made possible by generous gifts to the Theatre Fund for Excellence, the Germaine Tappan Fund for Student Support in Theatre, the Student/Faculty Interaction Grants Program and TFTV Differential Tuition.
