Daniel is currently the faculty Technical Director and head of Theatre Design and Production for the School of Theatre, Film, & Television. He has worked in the technical direction field in multiple theatres throughout Arizona, the Chicago-land area, and the east coast. Before being invited back to the University of Arizona,
Daniel worked at the Paramount Theatre in Aurora, IL on multiple Jeff Award nominated and winning shows, including Dreamgirls, Sound of Music, Into the Woods, and School of Rock. Daniel’s passion for technical theatre started when he was in elementary school and worked on a production of The Wizard of Oz. Since then, he has been active in productions through school theaters, community theaters, Broadway tours, and professional companies — and he has loved every minute of it! He believes that it is exhilarating to be a part of something bigger than you are; to work together with others towards a common objective.
His skills include (but are not limited to) Drafting, Carpentry, Mig Welding, CNC Toolpathing, Board Operation, and Run Crew experience. He is a current member of the United States Institute for Theatre Technology (USITT), the Association for Theatre in Higher Education (ATHE), and the American Theatre and Drama Society (ATDS).
