Nicole (Nicky) Koschmann is an Assistant Professor of Practice in the School of Theatre, Film, & Television, where she also directs the Arizona Online Film & Television Bachelor of Arts Program. Her award-winning experimental films and videos have been shown at festivals and art galleries around the globe.
Nicky has spent more than three decades teaching film production and media studies, and over ten years leading programs that bring critical media literacy and social justice into the study of film. She earned her MFA in Film from Syracuse University and her BA in Women’s Studies from Friends World College. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in Education at Binghamton University, focusing her research on how critical media literacy can reshape film production pedagogy in undergraduate programs.
She lives in Ithaca, NY with her family, three cats, and two bearded dragons.
