Three semesters of musical theatre acting with intensive solo and group performance.


Seven semesters of Stanislavsky-based training with classes in realism, Chekhov, Shakespeare, restoration and Moliere.

Voice And Movement

Four semesters of intensive Linklater voice training for the actor as well as period styles, dance and combat.

Musical Theatre Vocal Coaching

Eight semesters of class and private vocal coaching in musical theatre technique and repertoire in legit, belt and pop styles.


A dance class every semester with courses in ballet, tap, jazz and theatre dance in the UA School of Dance.

Performance Opportunities


Freshman musical theatre majors perform and tour in a musical revue which celebrates the Broadway musical and the American Songbook and is created specifically for incoming freshman.

Arizona Repertory Theatre (A.R.T.)

Sophomore, junior, and senior company members are cast each semester in the School of Theatre, Film & Television A.R.T. season which produces two musicals, one Shakespeare play, and three other plays.

Showcase of Talent

Each year, senior BFA Musical Theatre candidates are presented to industry casting directors, agents and directors in our Showcase of Talent which launches the professional careers of musical theatre and acting majors.

Arizona Theatre Company (A.T.C.) Internship Program

The School of Theatre, Film & Television has an active internship program with the Arizona Theatre Company (A.T.C.), the state's regional LORT B repertory theatre. Selected A.R.T. company members perform as understudies in A.T.C. productions and receive academic credit and earn points in the Actors' Equity Association's Equity Membership Candidacy program.
